The distillery began construction             in September 1969. On May 25, 1971 a high capacity water pumping             system began pumping water from Okanagn Lake, with water being             discharged near Ellison lake. The distillery ceased operation in 1992 and             all operations were ceased in June 1995. In February 2004 Okanagan             Biofuels announced they would convert the plant to produce             ethanol, no             operations came of this plan however. In early 2011 the former distillery             was torn down. Kelowna Pacific Railway built and lumber and cement             reload here in June 2002.
